Universal Peace Federation was introduced to the Kingdom of Swaziland on 16 December 2005 during a rally. Swaziland is a landlocked country in Southern Africa two thirds surrounded by South Africa and one third by Mozambique. It has an assembly of 95 parliamentarians. Our conferences have been attended by four former Prime Ministers, Senators and current Parliamentarians. The February 2008 International Leadership Conference was attended by our current Deputy Prime Minister, Hon. Constance Simelane.
The Chairman of UPF Swaziland is Sen. Rev. Abednego M. Dlamini, and the Secretary General is Rev. Peter Wonderlik. The biggest challenge we face is that Swaziland has the highest prevalence of HIV/AIDS in the world according to the latest UNAIDS data (Dec. 2007). UPF thus is involved with various stakeholders in Swaziland to adress this issue. We are also in the process of introducing character education to the schools and youth.
