London, UK - "Human Rights: Are Democratic Nations Upholding a Better Standard?" was the theme of a European Leadership Conference Nov. 21-22 in the Houses of Parliament in London. Muslim, Jewish and Christian speakers addressed issues of religious inclusion in Europe, and activists described challenges faced by immigrants and refugees in Europe.
I appeal to the human conscience to make a swift move defending human rights to rein in the savagery being committed against innocent children and the elderly in Syria. I share UPF’s appeal to the United Nations and the major powers to redouble their efforts for a diplomatic solution. Meanwhile, leaders of the world’s great faith traditions, especially Muslims, Jews and Christians, should come together in the search for a solution that brings an end to the bloodshed.

London, UK - The Youth Achievement Awards 2013 presentation on July 10 was an inspirational occasion featuring the sincere idealism of 12 young adults. Convened by the Universal Peace Federation and the Women's Federation for World Peace in the House of Commons, it was hosted by Mr. Virendra Sharma MP.
London, UK - Dr. Bhupendra Kumar Modi was presented with an Ambassador for Peace certificate on June 30 at the conclusion of a day's conference of the Global Citizen Forum in London. Dr. Modi is a renowned businessman, philanthropist, and Chairman of Spice Global. He was appointed by the United Nations as the Coordinator for the Indian subcontinent for the Millennium World Peace Summit. He has promoted interfaith cooperation and a global vision that has great similarity with UPF's founding concept of humanity being one family of a loving God.

London, UK - Africa Day was celebrated in a UPF-UK organized event on June 4 with a variety of perspectives in a packed House of Lords committee room kindly hosted by Baroness Howells of St. Davids. The event was also graced by a visiting delegation from UPF-Nigeria.
London, UK - UPF-UK commemorated the International Day of Families on May 16 at 43 Lancaster Gate, London. This year's UN International Family Day theme, "Advancing Social Integration and Intergenerational Solidarity" is very appropriate tor UPF's ideals of creating "one Family under God," which is based on development of good families serving the community.
London, UK - “The Impact of Social Media on Faith Communities” was the theme of a program presented May 1, 2013 in the UK House of Commons by the Youth Interfaith Council.
It was with deep regret that UPF learned of the passing on April 8 of UK's renowned former Prime Minister and dear friend Baroness Thatcher, after a stroke. We join with so many others around the nation and the entire world in mourning her passing and expressing our heartfelt condolences to her family.

London, UK - The UPF-UK Annual Peace Council meeting on December 8 was a full day of the ideals and values as expressed by European UPF Chairman Dr. Yong Cheon Song and UK UPF-Chairman Jack Corley. Mark Brann, UPF-Europe Secretary General, summarized developments worldwide especially reporting on the development of the European Leadership Conference series and the North Korean Medical Project.
London, UK - A splendid event in the British House of Lords launched a Youth Interfaith Council on November 28. The 56 attendees included two members of the House of Lords, youth activists, and some people who were attending their first interfaith gathering.
Canterbury, UK - "After 8 days finally reached Canterbury Cathedral!" Ashley Crosthwaite tweeted after a 140-mile trek in rain and sunshine from Winchester Cathedral to the historic pilgrimage destination of Canterbury to raise awareness and funds for charitable projects in Africa.
Edinburgh, Scotland - "The Way to Permanent Peace" was the theme of a meeting in the Scottish Parliament on September 12 in commemoration of the International Day of Peace.
