| | | | Standing Room Only At Offical GPF Ceremony in Paraguay
|  Asuncion, Paraguay - The official "kick off" for the First Global Peace Festival (GPF), was held on May 12th. The hall was overflowing, with no place to sit, or stand. Everyone looked excited to be part of what they expect to be a great festival from July 2-5.
Before the event GPF committee members were anxious about the turnout, as Omar Halasa, GPF Executive Director, said, "We prepared for only around eighty people, and over 300 showed up.

|  Kathmandu, Nepal - Nepal's newly elected Constituent Assembly late Wednesday declared this nation a democratic republic and ended the monarchy that has ruled for the past 240 years.
Lawmakers voted 560 to 4 in favor of making Nepal an "independent, indivisible, sovereign, secular and inclusive democratic republic."
This also brought to a conclusion the peace process started in November, 2005.
