Centenary Exhibition on UPF Founder Opens in Lisbon
Monday, July 13, 2020
Lisbon, Portugal—UPF inaugurated an exhibition in its Peace Embassy celebrating the centenary of UPF founder Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon.
Two guests who represented the association Dances with History (historical research, seminars and dance workshops) attended the exhibition opening on July 13, 2020.
The life, mission and the legacy that Reverend Moon left to humanity are very evident in the posters displayed and were greatly appreciated by the guests, leaving them with the desire to deepen their knowledge about the different ways used to create true peace.
After viewing the exhibition, there was time to introduce in more detail UPF and its mission and values. Through this discussion, we recognized common points which will allow us to collaborate in the future in a spirit of sharing and harmony.
In addition to the cultural and social aspects, we also emphasized the interfaith work that UPF carries out through the Interreligious Association for Peace and Development (IAPD). For a better illustration, the interreligious vision was presented through the book World Scripture. At the end of the meeting Reverend Moon’s autobiography, As a Peace-Loving Global Citizen, also was offered.
The inauguration of the centenary exhibition proved that the current pandemic cannot prevent the continuation of activities for the dissemination and promotion of values, which, now more than ever, are essential to help us face difficulties and to elevate us to a higher level of consciousness.
