Five-day seminars on UPF's Principles of Peace are being offered in various parts of Nepal. A seminar in Kathmandu August 5-9 attracted participants from Nepal and India. An overflow audience of 350 attended the August 15-19 seminar in Biratnagar. Leaders from four faith traditions demonstrated their commitment to interreligious cooperation by jointly pouring water onto a plant at the opening of the August 25-29 seminar in Nepalgunj.
Kathmandu, Nepal - More than 150 youth from six nations gathered together in Kathmandu on August 15 to celebrate the UN International Youth Day 2013.
New York, USA - Seiko Lee presented a benefit concert in New York on July 28 in an effort to raise funds for humanitarian relief toward the conditions in war-torn Syria.
Seliger Lake, Russia - The Young Ambassadors for Peace Eurasian Club organized a simulation of a World Trade Organization Ministerial Conference at the annual Seliger International Youth Forum on July 24-25.
Paris, France – The Russia-France Peace and Friendship Super-marathon finished in Paris on August 1 with a multi-ethnic team of 30 runners who overcame many difficulties and bought a banner of friendship from Moscow to Paris.
Taipei, Taiwan - Ambassadors for Peace David Eaton and David D’Or performed two concerts on July 21 with the Evergreen Symphony Orchestra at the National Concert Hall in Taipei, Taiwan. Mr. Eaton and Mr. D’Or performed music by Verdi, Mozart, Bernstein, Bach, Albinoni, Arlen, Gershwin, and Mr. Eaton’s “Pavane.” The concerts were sponsored by the Tzu Chi Foundation, a Taiwan-based Buddhist organization that provides humanitarian aid to countries throughout the world.
Las Vegas, USA - The First Lady of Mali, Mrs. Mintou Doucouré Traoré, arrived in Las Vegas, Nevada, on June 15 to participate in a UPF seminar and to meet with local officials and dignitaries interested in helping humanitarian activities in her country. The First Lady was accompanied on her four-day visit by the Malian Ambassador to the United States.
Buenos Aires, Argentina - July 6 was bright and fun day at the Peace Embassy in Buenos Aires during an artistic festival and solidarity fair organized by UPF-Argentina to raise funds to carry out their initiatives and activities. There were several artistic performances, exhibitions, and sale of handicrafts and international food.
London, UK - The Youth Achievement Awards 2013 presentation on July 10 was an inspirational occasion featuring the sincere idealism of 12 young adults. Convened by the Universal Peace Federation and the Women's Federation for World Peace in the House of Commons, it was hosted by Mr. Virendra Sharma MP.
Majuro, Marshall Islands - UPF-Marshall Islands offered a donation of US$600 on June 17, 2013, to the government to help provide relief to victims of a drought in the northern part of the Marshall Islands..
Dushanbe, Tajikistan - "Dushanbe – City of Peace," was the theme of the first Religious Youth Service project in Tajikistan, May 25-31, 2013, that included visiting religious and historic sites and taking orphan children on an outing.
Medan, Indonesia - Twelve young members of UPF's Asian Leadership Training are spending May and June in Medan on the Indonesian island of Sumatra joining Indonesian youth in meeting people from Sumatra's diverse religious communities and experiential learning.
