Slyudyanka, Russia - On the southern tip of Lake Baikal, a volunteer forum and environmental service projects from June 26 to July 3, 2011, drew attention to ways volunteers can enhance the attraction of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Parnu, Estonia - On the Baltic seacoast in Parnu, Estonia, the annual Parnu Summer Cup youth football tournament took place from June 30 to July 3 under the slogan of "Play Football Make Peace." During the period of several days, more than 100 football players from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Sweden, Ukraine, and Russia competed with the desire to become the best of the best.
Zugdidi, Georgia - At a Religious Youth Service project in Zugdidi, western Georgia, July 16-25, 2011 participants from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cote d'Ivoire, Georgia and Russia lived and worked together as an interfaith and international community helping at an orphanage.
Cap-Haitian, Haiti - A dozen nurses and students from the US spent a week in northern Haiti offering health education and care to people in impoverished sections of Cap-Haitian from May 28 to June 4.
London, UK - Fourteen young adults gave inspirational speeches about their activities and vision before receiving Youth Achievement Awards in the House of Lords on July 13 in an event kindly hosted by Lord King of West Bromwich and organized jointly by the Universal Peace Federation and the Women's Federation for World Peace.
Paramaribo, Suriname - Under the patronage of the Director of Youth Affairs in the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, Religious Youth Service alumni and volunteers from Generation Peace in the US hosted a “Friendship Americas” concert on May 14, 2011.
Vienna, Austria -The European Leadership Conference on "Communicating Change: Youth Perspectives on Peace" took place July 1-3, 2011 at the United Nations Headquarters and NH Danube Hotel in Vienna.
Sydney, Australia - The bi-monthly Ambassadors for Peace Meeting on June 6 featured an introduction and explanation of the new Community Connections Project being instigated in Sydney by the Universal Peace Federation.
Novazzano, Switzerland - the Universal Peace Federation of Ticino organized the first Peace Cup tournament in the town of Novazzano. This football tournament brought together 12 teams of children for a day of sports under the motto “Play Football Make Peace.”
Ishinomaki, Japan - Youth Ambassadors for Peace have been removing rubble and mud from homes in Ishinomaki in the Miyagi Prefecture that were devastated by the March 11, 2011, tsunami.
Honiara, Solomon Islands - A donation from UPF-Solomon Islands to assist victims of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami was delivered to a representative of the Japanese government at the office of the Parliament House on May 27.
Punta del Este, Uruguay - The government of Maldonado had 1,200 spare lunch boxes from an international students meeting in Punta del Esta and gave them to UPF-Uruguay to distribute in poor neighborhoods May 15, 2011.
