Yekaterinburg, Russia - A city amateur half-marathon on the theme “I choose life” took place in Yekaterinburg on May 27. It was organized and carried out by Young Ambassadors for Peace Ralif Galiyev, Tatyana Turchaninova, and Evgeny Skvortsov. There were 48 runners and about 80 participants.

Chisinau, Moldova - A "Beginners Training for Volunteers” was held as part of National Volunteer Week at the central prefecture of Chisinau on May 24. It was organized by the NGO PPROLUS. During the training young college students were introduced to volunteer policies in Moldova. They were also introduced to the meaning of volunteering as well as rights and benefits of volunteers. They received information on how to get involved in volunteer activities.
Buenos Aires, Argentina - A repertoire of music, dance, poetry and humor, framed the first charity dinner organized by UPF-Argentina on May 18 in Buenos Aires to generate funds to develop its various initiatives of peace.
Vladivostok, Russia - Volunteers with UPF and the Patriots of Primorye youth movement removed 30 bags of trash from the popular tourist destination Mount Livadia April 21-22, 2012.
A series of “Run Hour” events took place in Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Ryazan, Tula, and other cities of Russia on April 22 promoting the Spring Week of Goodness.
Kiev, Ukraine - A spring art contest for compositions on the theme “The Great Day of Easter” took place in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, on April 20. The project was initiated by the Kiev Center of Families, the Universal Peace Federation, and a grassroots organization of families with many children in the Shevchenko district of Kiev.
Quatre Bornes, Mauritius - Free medical check ups and nutrition advice were offered to children and adolescents sponsored by the Women's Federation for World Peace of Mauritius on April 15, 2012.
Yekaterinburg, Russia - A webinar on volunteerism entitled “Values work” took place in Yekaterinburg on April 14. The hosts, leaders of the site about self-development and the training campaign “SoStudent.ru” and UPF activists, Tatyana Terchaninova and Sergei Skvortsov, shared their experiences and outcomes on how to organize and conduct a values-based volunteer project.
Riga, Latvia - At an orphanage outside Riga damaged by a fire, volunteers cleaned up, repaired furniture, and restored the environment April 14, 2012 in the hopes that it could reopened in the summer.
UPF chapters organize Religious Youth Service projects that offer service-learning opportunities with a special focus on developing personal leadership and peacemaking skills. Through living together and providing altruistic service in a community, participants demonstrate that it is possible for our global human family to come together in peace for our mutual well being.
Portland Parish, Jamaica - Religious Youth Service-Jamaica is inviting applicants for a service-learning experience from August 3 to 16 to help make improvements at three schools on Jamaica's northeast coast and experience the vibrant culture of this Caribbean island nation celebrating its 50th anniversary of independence under the motto "Out of Many, One People."
