St. Petersburg, Russia - Ambassadors for Peace in North-west Russia met in St. Petersburg on June 13. Konstantin Krylov, Secretary General of UPF-Russia informed the participants about recent UPF activities. He gave a detailed report of the events that took place in different Eurasian chapters within the past three months, including celebration of the International Day of Families, Africa Day, and South Caucasus Peace Initiative.

Thereafter, Secretary General of the UPF North-west Russia, Tatyana Krasnosumova reported about the recent international conference in Tallinn that was part of the series of conferences  on multiculturalism that started in Geneva (August 2011) and continued in Moscow (April 2012). She acquainted the participants with the future plans of the UPF North-west chapter concerning the “Baltic Dialogue Project” and answered their questions.

The speech of Andrei Valyavsky, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, was wonderfully interesting and emotional. He spoke about his activities over many years in creating didactic books for children and parents. He also directed the participants to a website for more information on the subject.

At the end of the meeting the participants posed for a photo and shared informally over tea and refreshments.
