Peacemaking Conference in Baku

Baku, Azerbaijan - Well-known state and public officials gathered in Baku to review the UPF's South Caucasus Peace Initiative and discuss ways to advance peace in the region.
The master of ceremonies for the December 1 discussions was the well-known public figure, former Prime Minister Rahim Huseynov. Government initiatives were an important part of the discussion. Participants expressed their opinions about necessity to prevent violence in the region and on peaceful settlement of the existing conflict in the region of the Kharabakh mountains.
Dr. Katsumi Ohtsuka, chairman of the Eurasia region of UPF, also described new UPF projects.
