Tbilisi, Georgia - At the Palace of Students in Tbilisi, winners from Georgia of the second International Youth Film Festival “Gift” received diplomas and prizes on February 10.
The participants submitted entries such as movie scripts, compositions, drawings, and photos on the topic of: “We won! We remember, feel proud and grateful.” This theme related to the to event's focus on the 65th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
Participation in the Film Festival became possible for the Georgian youth thanks to cooperation of the Sverdlovsk regional Foundation “Renaissance” for the development of cinema and TV for children and youth; UPF chapters in the Urals and nearby Georgia; and the “Urals – Georgia: We'll Be Friends” project of the South Caucasus Peace Initiative of UPF-Russia. The project was carried out in support of the youth film festival; it not only promoting talented youth but also revived the traditions of charity and volunteerism in society, promoting the development of social maturity and positive social activity. The event made an impact on friendship and mutual understanding.
At the award ceremony were young participants in the competition, their parents, and representatives of the Palace of Students administration. They were congratulated by the chairperson of UPF-Georgia, Vitaly Maximov, and the chair of the National Club of the Delphian movement in Georgia, Yury Vakhtangovich Lukashvili. Displayed on a stand in the hall were projects of the Universal Peace Federation and the photo of Varvara Asanidze, the winner in the photo competition.
