Caracas, Venezuela - UPF-Venezuela organized a celebration of the UN International Day of Families at the Banco del Libro in Altamira in Caracas on May 15, 2010. This commemoration was part of a workshop titled "New Incorruptible Leadership," which emphasized the family as a school of universal values and good character for future leaders of the world of peace.
Topics included Intelligent Citizenship and Sexual Intelligence, both aiming to raise awareness about the need to educate for universal goodness and absolute sexual fidelity, so that families and society can enjoy peace, progress, and happiness.
As always, couples who have been married more than 20 years were presented with a Medal of Peace. This is an award for their effort and love invested in life that bears fruit in loving children and good citizens. Their children presented the medal to mom, then mom to dad! A lady in the audience asked a couple honored with the medal: "If you are born again, would you get married again with the same person?" Both José Luis and Inés Izaguirre answered without hesitation: YES. Listening to their stories from daily life was a valuable opportunity to learn from the experience of others.
