Jakarta, Indonesia - The Universal Peace Federation celebrated the UN International Day of Families at the UPF Peace Center on May 15 on the theme of “Addressing Poverty by Strengthening Families.”

Mr. Oscar Sinurat, Chairman of UPF-Indonesia, welcomed the audience of 40 people, and Dr. Payaman Simanjuntak, Vice Chairman of the Committee on Productivity Promotion, National Productivity Council, gave the opening remarks, followed by a video: “Creating a World of Peace: One Family at a Time.”

The UPF Declaration on Families was read by Mr. Leo Hutagalung, an Ambassador for Peace, and Mrs. Ursula McLackland spoke about: “Addressing Poverty and Social Exclusion by Strengthening Families.”
