Kiev, Ukraine - An International Day of Families program took place in the children’s home “Malyatko” in Kiev on May 19 by the efforts of UPF volunteers. Fifteen children participated, along with their teachers and six UPF volunteers.

After getting acquainted, the children watched the UPF presentation on “Universal Principles.” Also, volunteers conducted a few games about build a team spirit. Children enjoyed delicious food prepared especially for them. Then, altogether they went outdoors to play football. It was a special pleasure for the children, because soon Ukraine will host the championship EURO 2012.
The project appeared valuable both for the children as well as initiators. The children learned about universal moral values as the foundation of the family. Children felt concern on the part of the volunteers, and it inspired them with the hope to create their own happy families in the future.
The volunteers gained valuable experiences of working with children and creating relations of heart with them. "The teachers are very good educators for the children," one volunteer commented afterwards. "They teach the young people how to live in this complicated world and not just survive. All children are different, and each child needs a special approach."
