Day of Families Observed in Nairobi

Nairobi, Kenya - UPF-Kenya and its network of Ambassadors for Peace and families hosted a celebration of the UN International Day of Families in Nairobi on May 15 with a wide variety of cultural events, educational speeches, and activities.
Diverse faith leaders and professionals gave inspirational and educative speeches on the theme “Balancing Spirituality and Practical Affairs in the Family.”
Rev. Emmanuel Tanui, UPF-Kenya Secretary General, talked about the need to promote family values as the foundation for strong families and a stable society.
A group of youthful artists created a festive and friendly family spirit and captured the attention of the audience by showcasing their talents in music and dancing. They blended day’s events with a cultural touch. In order to connect to the practical realities and understand the challenges at the heart of a family, a youthful artists calling themselves The Hearts of Art staged an educational, informative, and entertaining play to educate parents about relationship and conflict resolution skills.
