UPF organized International Day of Families events during May in Kinshasa and Kinzau Mvete. The theme of the programs was "Marriage and Family as Instruments of Peace."

On this occasion the UPF presented Certificates of Marital Merit to couples who have lived a monogamous married life and have a good reputation in their community. They were selected primarily by churches whose leaders are Ambassadors for Peace. The couples completed an education program on marriage and family.
