Day of Families Observed in Lima and Trujillo

Lima, Peru - UPF-Peru celebrated the International Day of Families on May 15 with a forum in the Congress of Peru. Featured speakers included a representative of the UN, Rebecca Arias, and the Ministry for Women. Congressman Dr. Yonhy Lescano co-sponsored the event. The auditorium Sanchez Carrion was filled to capacity by more than 200 guests who were very inspired by the speeches they heard commemorating this important day.
On May 30 in the coastal city of Trujillo UPF local representatives Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Chavez held their third district meeting celebrating the International Day of Families, accompanied by local leaders. As in previous years, local couples who had been married more than 25 years were honored and presented with certificates. The vision of UPF was shared along with the words of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
