UN International Day of Families 2013

Day of Families Observed in Kazakhstan

Almaty, Kazakhstan - A conference related to the International Day of Families was held in Kazakhstan on May 25. The event was opened by a musical greeting of the People's Artist of Kazakhstan and Ambassador for Peace, Akaltyn. Vladimir Dolgov read the message of the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon for the International Day of Families. The event started with a welcoming speech by the Ambassador for Peace, poet and writer, Amaitan Akhetov. In the end of the conference, the former president of the Family Federation, Larissa Lee, gave a closing speech.

The conference was attended by about 30 participants; among them were six Ambassadors for Peace. After the official part, family competitions took place. Some people recited poems about the family. The conference participants made plans for future activities.
