Kigali, Rwanda - A seminar on the Role of the Family in Advancing Social Integration and Intergenerational Solidarity took place in Kigali in May 18, in observance of the UN International Day of Families.
The program opened with prayer and singing; then a video was shown about UPF activities worldwide. Three lectures were given: "The Benefit of Marriage," by Rev. George Mpamyabigwi; "The Family as a School of Love and Peace," by Eziechel Maniragaba; and "Conflict Resolution in Families," by Innocent Gihana.
Following a presentation of songs and dancing, UPF-Rwanda Secretary General Rev. Makuuza Francis read UPF's Statement on the Family, and a councilor from the Nyarugege District of Kigali spoke.
Closing remarks and refreshments concluded the program.
