Chisinau, Moldova—To draw attention to the 2015 International Day of Families, UPF-Moldova organized a street action under the motto "Happy Families—Prosperous Nation."
With that motto printed on their T-shirts, UPF volunteers handed out 4,300 fliers between May 13 and 15 in the center of Chisinau, the capital. On the fliers were printed “15 Habits of Happy Families.” The volunteers, who had received permission from the Chisinau City Hall, were accompanied by a person wearing a big, red, heart-shaped costume who entertained passers-by.
In this way UPF-Moldova wanted to remind people about the importance of the UN International Day of Families and the Day of Families in Moldova.
The campaign ended on May 15 with a flash mob at the monument to the national hero of Moldova, King Stefan the Great. UPF Ambassadors for Peace and representatives of UPF sister organization Women's Federation for World Peace also were present.
During the three days the volunteers promoted the UPF-Moldova website and invited people to an International Day of Families celebration taking place on May 24.
