Quito, Ecuador—Ambassadors for Peace in Ecuador organized events in Quito and Guayaquil on May 16 and 30 to celebrate the UN International Day of Families 2015.
In Quito, a conference about the importance and value of each of member of the family was held at the Peace Embassy. Among the 20 participants were Ambassadors for Peace; an adviser to the National Assembly, the legislative branch of the Ecuadorian government; a UN volunteer; Christian missionaries; a professor; and university students. There was a real familial atmosphere among them.
In Guayaquil, the International Day event was held at a hotel. Ambassadors for Peace from the city invited their friends and families. Among the 75 participants were a former member of Ecuador’s Ministry of Social Welfare; entrepreneurs; the chief administrative officer of a local university; professors; comptrollers; a representative from the people’s ombudsman office; officers of the Association of Lawyer and the Court of Justice in Guayas; and university students. The children of Ambassadors for Peace and students served at the reception following the event.
