Almè, Italy—"Family - Education - Wellness” was the theme of the International Day of Families commemoration held in a small town outside the city of Bergamo.
More than 40 people attended the event, which celebrated the 25th anniversary of the United Nations-designated commemorative day. The event was held on the evening of May 16, 2019, in the town’s Civic Hall with the town’s sponsorship.
The Bergamo chapter of UPF organized the meeting together with affiliated organizations Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) and Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU), and also ISKCON Congregation for Krishna Consciousness.
The evening confirmed how necessary it is to promote and support the family, as secure and stable family relationships determine the security and stability of character and heart for each family member. This is an indispensable foundation for harmony and social cohesion.
Three speeches were presented: Carlo Zonato, the president of UPF-Italy, spoke on the topic "The Strategic Value of the Family for Peace and Social Cohesion." He was followed by Giannina Figus Ravaglioli, the president of WFWP of Bergamo, who presented a speech on "The Power of Women.” The last presentation was given by Walter Montagner, a spiritualist with ISKCON, on the topic "Good Relations for Emotional Solidity in the Couple."
At the end, we organized refreshments for the whole group.
