Russia-2021-05-15-Russians Celebrate Families by Planting Pines

Lyubertsy, Russia—UPF activists celebrated the International Day of Families by joining a group of 1,000 volunteers in a local environmental program.

The program on May 15, 2021, was organized by the administration of the city of Lyubertsy in the Moscow Region. Both old and young took part in the planting of young pine trees.

In just one hour, 13,000 pines were planted on 3.3 hectares (more than 8 acres).

As the forester told us, seedlings that are planted at such mass events have the best survival rate! The energy of the volunteers' hearts gives strength to the young trees, and they grow quickly and do not get sick.

The ecological event was a success. The head of the city of Lyubertsy, Vladimir Ruzhitsky, took an active part in planting trees together with the volunteers. With a genuine sense of responsibility, he helped others and explained how to plant trees correctly so that they will take root.

This is how the volunteers of the Universal Peace Federation celebrated the International Day of Families. As one big family, we have taken care of our planet.
