UN International Day of Families 2021

UPF-Congo Commemorates UN International Day of Families

Congo-2021-05-30-Three Hundred Guests UPF-Congo’s Commemoration of UN International Day of Families

Nkayi, Congo Brazzaville—UPF-Congo celebrated the UN International Day of Families on May 30 with the Congo branch of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) by holding an educational conference for couples. Included among the of 300 people participating were 72 couples receiving the World Peace Blessing. The theme of the conference was “Peace Begins with Me and With My Family.”

The emcee, H.E. Valentin Tadingou, reminded the participants that they were gathered for the education of families and to learn about the vision of UPF, which is the creation of one family under God. An opening prayer followed, offered by the Salvation Army pastor, Major François Pambou.

The administrator of the town hall of Nkayi, Ambassador for Peace H.E. Jean Claude Bamenguina, gave appropriate words. He welcomed the guests and encouraged this initiative of education of the couples because many problems come from disagreements in couples. Therefore the education of couples in his district is welcome, and he supports all such programs.

After a video presenting the activities of UPF and FFWPU, FFWPU’s Rev. Norbert Ndielle developed the main theme of “Peace Begins With Me and My Family.” He addressed the following points: the ideal of God, the origin of evil, the dream of God for humanity, universal principles, the life of the couple, the role of parents in the family, and finally the importance of committing to each other for eternity.

Following the video on blessing activities around the world, 72 couples of different faiths participated in the World Peace Blessing ceremony.

Then Reverend Ndielle presented certificates to couples who, despite ups and downs, have remained together for more than 30 years. He also pledged to continue education initiatives for couples.

The event was closed in prayer by Major Mpambou, followed by photos and refreshments.
