Prague, Czech Republic—A prominent member of the Czech Parliament was the guest speaker at the UPF celebration of International Day of Families 2022.
About 20 people, including new guests, attended the meeting on May 26 at the Peace Embassy.
Hon. Nina Nováková gave a talk titled “Family in the Light of Today” in which she explained the significance of the family in the society and state. She mentioned that the family is like an ecosystem, as a school of relationships. When one member in the family has some difficulties, the whole family is affected.
If we want to maintain the principle of sustainable development, the family is the best place, she said. All members of the family are working for the future. The parents and grandparents educate the children and grandchildren and create a safe environment for them.
The well-being of the family includes good social relationships, she said. The family is a building block of the state and a reliable partner for the state. This was demonstrated during the COVID-19 pandemic.
On the issue of divorce, Hon. Nováková mentioned a statement by a Czech government ministry that said the best environment for children is the family and this should be taken into consideration in a divorce process.
There were many questions after the lecture. In the end the participants showed their appreciation for the speaker with enthusiastic applause.
