Chisinau, Moldova—More than 40 volunteers participated in a bicycle tour to promote International Day of Families.
Both adults and children bicycled about 5 kilometers around the center of Chisinau, the capital.
The Peace Road event was coordinated by Dr. Andrei Eșanu, the secretary general of UPF-Moldova. It was held on May 14, 2023, in cooperation with the National Association of Bicycle Sports and the Moldovan chapters of Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) and Youth and Students for Peace (YSP), two organizations that are affiliated with UPF.
On this day, several Moldovan families were awarded a certificate “For Promoting Family Values.” One of the laureates was Vasile Fotesc, the director of the National Association of Bicycle Sports.
UPF-Moldova called for International Day of Families, which is celebrated worldwide each year on May 15, to become a national holiday on which the people of Moldova are given a day off from work and school to take care of their families.
