Moscow, Russia - The Russian National Peace Council convened to celebrate the UN World Refugee Day, June 20. The participants adopted a resolution in support of the World Refugee Day, highlighting UPF's South Caucasus Peace Initiative activities in support of refugees and internally displaced persons in Armenia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan.
The participants, including Peace Council members, other Ambassadors for Peace, and youth activists (about 40 people altogether) also discussed the results of the activities of the Council and UPF as a whole during the first half of 2009. The discussion was followed by a friendly lunch.
The program was conducted by Dr. Vladimir Petrovsky and organized by Igor Panichenko. The atmosphere of the gathering was warm and people shared from their hearts.
