World AIDS Day Marked by Youth Conference in St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg, Russia - The annual youth conference commemorating World AIDS Day took place November 30 in St. Petersburg. The event was initiated by workers of the City Center of AIDS prevention and control, headed by Davydova A.A., an Ambassador for Peace.
The conference was held in the Youth House (Central district) and was attended by 275 students of the medical and pedagogical colleges of the city.
The conference was opened by welcoming speeches of guest speakers, among them was a representative of the Peace Council of the North-West region of the Russian Federation, Ambassador for Peace Tatyana Krasnosumuva. She told about the Universal Peace Federation and its key activities, emphasizing the importance of a healthy lifestyle for the purpose of creating happy families in the future.
Before the conference, students at the city colleges took part in the creativity competition on the theme of “AIDS and Health; I Choose Health.” Participants in the competition represented 26 special educational institutions. They submitted a total of 76 posters that reflected the theme of the conference. The work of a student from the Alexandrovsky Lyceum, Ella Veremchuk, on the theme of “Conquer AIDS in the Name of Life” was judged to be the best. The jury mentioned the positive and life-asserting character of her work.
The active involvement of students in preparing computer products: creating videos, websites, presentations, etc., was positively surprising. Thirty-four works were submitted for competition. They were good submissions and reflected the personal vision of the problem and the way of its solving.
The participants of the conference learned about the results of the creativity competition and fasted red ribbons on their chests as part of the worldwide activities on this World AIDS Day.
Note: World AIDS Day, observed December 1 each year, is dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection. Government and health officials often observe the event with speeches or forums on topics related to AIDS.
Молодежная конференция «СПИД и здоровье. Я выбираю здоровье»
30 ноября 2010г. в Санкт-Петербурге прошла ежегодная молодежная конференция, посвященная всемирному дню борьбы со СПИДом.
Инициаторами ее проведения стали сотрудники городского центра профилактики и борьбы со СПИДом под руководством заведующей центром, Послом мира Давыдовой А.А.
Место проведения – Дом молодежи Центрального района, участники, 275 человек – студенты и учащиеся средних специальных учебных заведений медицинских и педагогических колледжей города.
Началась конференция с приветственных выступлений гостей, среди которых была и представитель Совета мира Северо-Западного региона РФ, Посол мира Татьяна Красносумова. Она рассказала о Федерации за Всеобщий Мир, её основных направлениях работы, о важности сохранять свое здоровье для создания счастливой семьи в будущем.
До конференции учащиеся и студенты участвовали в творческом конкурсе «СПИД И ЗДОРОВЬЕ. Я ВЫБИРАЮ ЗДОРОВЬЕ». На участие в конкурсе откликнулись 26 средних специальных учебных заведений. На конкурс было представлено 76 плакатов, которые отражали заявленную тему. Лучшей была признана работа студентки «Александровского лицея» Веремчук Эллы «Победить СПИД во имя жизни». Жюри отметило позитивность, жизнеутверждающее начало представленной работы.
Приятно удивила активная вовлеченность учащейся молодежи в подготовке компьютерной продукции: создание роликов, вэб-страниц, презентаций и др. На конкурс было представлено 34 работы. Это были хорошие авторские работы со своим личным видением проблемы и позитивным ее разрешением.
Все присутствующие на конференции ознакомились с итогами творческого конкурса и, прикрепив на груди красную ленточку, присоединились к Всемирной акции – Всемирному Дню борьбы со СПИД.
