Geneva, Switzerland - The 8th Youth Summit on Human Rights took place in Geneva August 26-28 on the theme “to create leaders through human rights education."
Speakers at the summit included a former U.N. Assistant-Secretary-General, several representatives of permanent missions to the U.N. and NGO consultants to the United Nations, and youth delegates from Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas.
The three-day summit concluded on Sunday with an interreligious meeting, with speakers representing Christianity (Pastor Jean‐Claude Basset) and Dr. Chidiebere A. Ogbu (a South African bishop), Hinduism (Swami Amarananda), Sikhism (Bachittar Singh), Islam (Mustapha Hares), and other religions.
