The contest was connected to the UN International Day of Friendship, which was established to promote this value not only at the interpersonal level, but between organizations, peoples, nationalities, ethnicities, religions and cultures. The jury consisted of artists Ana Cabrera Grohs, Marta Diez, and Zulma García Cuerva; and Arieh Sztokman and Miguel Werner, representing the Affinnerity and UPF-Argentina, respectively, the contest organizers.
The award ceremony took place on July 30 in an artistic and cultural event held in commemoration of the International Friendship Day, established by the UN in April 2011. The winning works, and other 21 that have been selected, were exhibited at the meeting and for the following two days.
