Jakarta, Indonesia—On the occasion of the UN International Youth Day 2017, UPF-Indonesia, in collaboration with Youth and Students for Peace (YSP), Indonesia, organized a seminar on the theme, "Youth Building Peace," at the UPF Center in Jakarta. Thirty participants attended the one-day program, which took place on August 12, 2017 and included lectures, discussions, games and ice-breakers. Among the presentations that were given were: “Principles of Peace,” “True Love vs. False Love,” and “The Way to Peace – How to Start.”
The participants intensely discussed the topic, "Peace Starts With Me," in small groups, and later presented their proposals to the entire group.
During the closing session, the participants reflected on their experience and what they learned throughout the day. Many of them felt taking part in this seminar was a rewarding experience and expressed a desire to participate in future UPF and YSP programs. Eighteen students from Djuanda University in Bogor traveled over 50 kilometers (31 miles), and one high school student even flew from Jambi in Sumatra to join this event. At the end of the seminar, each participant was given a certificate.
This special celebration of the UN International Youth Day was part of the regular youth leadership training program UPF and YSP in Indonesia conduct every other Saturday for young people from all backgrounds to become leaders who have a vision of love, peace, harmony and social integration, fostering UPF founders Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon’s vision of “One Family Under God.”
