Lima, Peru—To commemorate the International Day of Human Rights 2017, UPF-Peru held a forum on the theme, “Let’s Protect the Human Rights of All” in the Alberto Andrade Carmona Room of the Congress of the Republic of Peru, on December 19, 2017. The event was organized by the office of congressman Salvador Heresi Chicoma and Dr. Trevor Jones, president of UPF-Peru, and attended by more than 250 guests.
The secretary general of UPF-Peru, Mr. Jaime Fernandez, was the emcee, and the opening remarks were given by the Gen. Héctor Jhon Caro, vice president of UPF-Peru. Speeches were given by Dr. Antero Flores Araoz, former president of the Congress of the Republic; Adm. Juan Carlos Dioses Marcos, national coordinator of the Neighborhood Boards of the National Police of Peru (Policía Nacional del Perú, PNP); former congressman Víctor Manual Ruiz Caro Alvarez; and Dr. Teresa Otiniano Castillo, an Ambassador for Peace.
Also during the program, 13 new Ambassadors for Peace were appointed.
