Buenos Aires, Argentina—In recognition of the UN International Day of Older Persons, UPF-Argentina visited the San José de Ciudadela Retirement Home on October 21. This visit was arranged in cooperation with the Messengers of Peace Association of Ciudadela, managed by Ambassadors for Peace Hugo Cattoni and Leticia Castorina.
We enjoyed performances from Claudio Melgarejo, who played the accordion, and dances from the Ballet Huellas del Folklore, managed by Ambassadors for Peace Marcos Daverio and Elsa Ortíz, who danced with Alicia and Osvaldo (*). Grandparents played bingo and took part in a raffle, in which CARP students Ailen and Alexandra collaborated. Rubén Montero was in charge of comedy.
“We want to express our appreciation to this beautiful and special group of people who dignify us for the values they uphold in pursuit of an authentic, absolute peace in the universal context,” expressed Amalia Luna, one of the grandmothers who read a welcoming message to UPF’s committee. She concluded, “Every year, they carry this significant mission that uplifts those who spread this wise message to all corners of the earth to reign in the peace of infinity.”
Grateful for their hospitality and the joyful moments spent togther, At the end, Alba Luz Tangarife and Miguel Werner, secretary general of UPF-Argentina, gave presents to the hosts at the end.
