‘Peace Road Vision Conference’ in Canada

Toronto, Canada—A conference on the Peace Road and the family was held in Toronto, Canada on July 14, 2018 with 40 guests.
The Canadian chapters of UPF and the Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP), an affiliated organization, co-hosted the one-day program which featured two panels: one on “Altruistic Families Are the Key to a Harmonious World” and another on “A Peace Road Vision Helping Link People Wanting a Peaceful World.” Six speakers, which included a former mayor of the town of Cobourg in southern Ontario, shared their insights on these themes.
The conference began with opening remarks by Dr. Moonshik Kim, chair of UPF-Canada, and Mrs. Lilly Tadin, president of WFWP-Canada, who spoke about the vision for peace of Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, the founders of UPF and WFWP, and the purpose of the conference.
The first panel comprised of Ms. Arooj Aarooj, a radio talk show host; Mr. Qamrul Khanson, an author of eight books and a Friday Imam; and Rev. Stoyan Tadin, a Unificationist preacher.
Between the panels, Mr. Shafiq Beig shared his poem, “War of Alphabets.”
The second panel comprised of Mr. Peter Delanty, former mayor of the town of Cobourg; Rev. Yvette Shank, president of the Church of Scientology–Canada; and Mr. Errol Gibbs, a behavioral strategist and author.
Mr. Edmond Young of UPF-Canada gave the keynote address, in which he spoke about the Peace Road initiative, an international highway using a track system and high speed trains that would connect all continents. The project proposes the construction of a tunnel-bridge across the Bering Strait and a tunnel connecting Japan and Korea.
Afterwards, five young adult missionaries sang “On Top of the World,” and all the attendees signed a Peace Road map in support of the development of the project.
The conference concluded with a lunch.
