Buenos Aires, Argentina—On April 27, 2019, through an initiative of UPF and the Youth and Students for Peace (YSP) in Argentina, a group visited the Islamic Cultural Center, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd, in the Palermo neighborhood of Buenos Aires city. The visit included a talk about the teachings of Islam and explanations on the various facilities around the mosque for 2,000 worshippers—including a college, an exhibition and conference halls, a library and other departments, which were all opened in 2000. The mosque and facilities cover 20,000 square meters.
The educational visit, which inspired interest from the visitors, who asked a number of questions, was organized as part of an interreligious and intercultural project of the Argentina chapters of UPF and the YSP that seeks to foster leadership and cross-generational integration.
