On January 21, 2009, a workshop about coordinating volunteer efforts for peace and development was held at the headquarters of the Universal Peace Federation in Tegucigalpa.
La Paz, Honduras - On December 13-14, 60 young people participated in a weekend of intense sports and education in La Paz, or the City of Peace, the capital city of one of the largest of 18 departmental regions of Honduras, the department of La Paz.
Tegucigalpa, Honduras - In the Central Park of Tegucigalpa, the power of volunteerism was celebrated on Dec. 5, 2008 at the foot of the statue of the great Central American statesman, Francisco Morazán.

Two alumni of Religious Youth Service organized programs for middle school students in Choluteca, Honduras June 20-21, 2008, that included HIV/AIDS prevention education and planting 300 trees to counter deforestation.
Colonia Nueva Suyapa, Honduras – RYS participants undertook a project including landscaping, construction, painting and furnishing of a new kitchen in a community center, as well as supervising free-time activities for the children of the community of Colonia Nueva Suyapa, in the suburbs of Tegucigalpa. The kitchen will be used by an education center for local children.
Honduras— Working with the children to give them hope for a brighter future fits with the theme of the project “World Peace and the Role of Youth.” By working together with the children, the young people set an example of love and service.
Tegucigalpa, Honduras—The RYS worked in cooperation with Service for Peace dedicated this day in order to commemorate the UN International Day of Peace through offering a day of service and reflection at in doing service at the School of Midwifery in Rivers State.
Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras—RYS 2002 held the Thirteenth Friendship Americas Project in Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras. This 3 week journey began in Guatemala City where staff and 42 participants representing 16 countries and diverse religious traditions, took on a challenge whose outcome was a strong community that explicitly valued full and free communication, recognized cultural and social differences as strengths, and embraced diversity among its members.
Tegucigalpa, Honduras— July began with Honduras hosting a major international RYS project as part of the Friendship America's Project. This program brought together youth from fourteen nations in North and South America as part of an effort to promote religious and cultural understanding.
Honduras— In early June, the RYS was took part in the inaugural of the Honduras National Youth week and helped support the opening day's festivities. RYS International Director, Rev. John Gehring spoke in front of the National Congress concerning the role of youth in pioneering a path of religious and cultural cooperation in the America's.
