Tegucigalpa, Honduras - The September 21, 2008 celebration of the International Day of Peace was attended by 210 political leaders, government officials, civic leaders, businessmen, trade union members, and leaders of both Catholic and Evangelical churches. More than 50 people received Ambassador for Peace certificates.
The appeal to peace resonated with the people of Honduras, a small country with harmony among people of different races. There are no great obstacles to interfaith, interracial, international harmony in Honduras. The five stars on the national flag of Honduras symbolize reconciliation and unity, similar to the rings on the flag of the Olympic Games.
