Asunción, Paraguay - An energetic crowd of 25,000 packed into Asunción’s historic Club Olimpia Stadium burst into rowdy and prolonged cheers at the Global Peace Festival (GPF) Saturday night as Chairman Dr. Hyun Jin Moon told them “Paraguay would play a leading role in building One Family Under God.” The Paraguay GPF is the first of 17 planned throughout the world in 2008.

Asunción, Paraguay - “You’re crazy.” Not exactly the benediction we were looking for, but it seemed like those were always the first words we heard from people while organizing our “Cattle Drive for Peace and Unity,” through the rugged outback of Paraguay. We were proposing to drive 150 cattle, all of them pregnant, a distance of 170 kilometers (106 miles) over hostile landscape and iffy roads.

Asunción, Paraguay - Thousands of excited and eager Paraguayan teenagers and young adults besieged a popular radio station in downtown Asunción today, in response to a promotion offering pairs of free tickets to the Global Peace Festival scheduled to be held this coming Saturday. Even though the Club Olimpia Stadium is one of the capital’s top venues and holds more than 25,000, expectations are high that it will be completely sold out come the weekend.

The 2008 series of Global Peace Festival (GPF) begins July 2-5 in Asuncion, Paraguay. GPF has been broadcast on television and radio and featured in newspapers throughout this South American country. The biannual festival is the opportunity for people from different races, religions, and nations to gather together and celebrate achievements in the pursuit of building “One Family under God.”

ASUNCION, PARAGUAY — On May 12, the official "kick off" ceremony for the Global Peace Festival in Paraguay was held in the prestigious Excelsior Hotel. The hall was overflowing, with no place to sit, and even no place to stand. Everyone looked excited to be part of what they expect to be a great festival in July.

Puerto Diana, ParaguayParticipants worked in the Native Indian village of Deena on the Paraguay River in the Pantanal. There they helped build the foundation and walls for a new community school. Participant spent a day of service at a school in the poorer ‘Las Chacaritas’ district of the capital.
