Dushanbe, Tajikistan - A December 15 forum at the National Library on “Creating a New, Active and Creative Elite in Tajikistan” attracted grassroots organizers, Ambassadors for Peace, and leaders of Tajikistan's cultural, scientific, and business communities.
Kavre, Nepal - A Religious Youth Service project at an orphanage and monastery in Banepa in the Kavre District of Nepal Dec. 2-9, 2012, included community-based service, education in values, leadership training, interfaith visits and dialogues and cross-cultural learning experiences.
Vienna, Austria - In advance of the UN Alliance of Civilizations Youth Forum in Vienna in February 2013, Youth UPF-Austria hosted a panel discussion on "The Role of the Media in a Pluralistic World" on Dec. 11, 2012.
Moscow, Russia - A friendly autumn football tournament marking the Day of the District of Lyublino and the upcoming National Day of People's Unity took place on a football field in Stavropolskaya Street on November 3.
Kalpitiya, Sri Lanka - In the Puttlam district of northwest Sri Lanka are living many Muslims who were displaced during the country's decade-long civil war, and RYS-Sri Lanka is inviting local and international youth to help build a community center in the district's coastal town of Kalpitiya December 15 to 21.
Maseru, Lesotho - Seeking to make a difference in the nation with the third-highest HIV-infection rate in the world, UPF-Lesotho is seeking funds to provide community-based care for orphans and sick adults in 20 villages that will enable them to have adequate food, gain an education, and generate income.
Multan, Pakistan - Funds are being sought to provide food, shelter and medical care to people displaced by floods resulting from monsoon rains in the Southern Punjab in 2012.
Canterbury, UK - "After 8 days finally reached Canterbury Cathedral!" Ashley Crosthwaite tweeted after a 140-mile trek in rain and sunshine from Winchester Cathedral to the historic pilgrimage destination of Canterbury to raise awareness and funds for charitable projects in Africa.
Holon, Israel - A delegation of volunteers from Russia visited Holon, Israel, from September 22 to 30. Young Ambassadors for Peace from different cities of Russia (Moscow, Nizhniy Novgorod, Izhevsk, Nizhnevartovsk, and Kazan) were warmly welcomed by a group of kind community activists from Holon.
New Delhi, India - The Universal Peace Federation-India launched College Peace Clubs in three universities in New Delhi in August and September: Ram Lal Anand College and St. Stephen's College of the University of Delhi and Jamia Millia Islamia (the Islamic National University).
Kathmandu, Nepal - "Clean and Green Nepal," a nationwide garbage separation education campaign was launched in Nepal on September 2. With a sense of civic pride, 1000 participants, including volunteers from 50 colleges in Nepal and four colleges in India, cleaned up Ratna Park in Kathmandu.
