Moscow, Russia - A team of young athletes ran a 1151-kilometer super-marathon through the cities of the Golden Ring from June 1 to 12. They were participating in the “Children against Drugs: I Choose sports!” activity celebrating the International Children's Day.

Portland, Jamaica – In Portland, Jamaica on May 1, 2009, RYS youth joined Father Francis in refurbishing his church, the St. Agnes Catholic Church. Young people from the community washed the outside of the church in preparation for future painting. Inside work continued with scrapping old wall covering, filling holes and rolling and brushing on a new coat of paint. The work materials were donated by the Archdiocese of Kingston and the members of St. Agnes Catholic Church.
Chennai, India - On April 26, 2009, Global Youth Service Day, alumni of Religious Youth Service-India volunteered at "Udhavum Ullangal," a free home taking care of more than 100 orphan children in Chennai.
Bamako, Mali - The Global Peace Tour made an impact on Mali on April 20, 2009, by cleaning the stagnant polluted waters of the Diafaranako Canal that runs through the capital city and an International Leadership Conference the following day.
Lusaka, Zambia - The UPF Global Peace Tour in Zambia, April 9-11, 2009, featured a market clean-up, International Leadership Conference and festival.
Malayasia - By Donating a mere 10 sen, you can change a child's future. That is the thrust of the Power of 10 Sen campaign. Organised by the Universal Peace Federation of Malaysia and the Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRCS), the campaign, dubbed "Now Everyone Can Give", aims to raise RM300,000 by putting up 7,000 special Power of 10 Sen collection boxes in 340 schools throughout Malaysia until May 12.
