Recording "Halelu — A Cantata for Peace"

“Halelu,” a 40-minute composition for solo voices, chorus and orchestra is a collaborative effort between New York City Symphony music director David Eaton and the prominent Israeli singer/composer, David D'Or. The music was inspired by the efforts of the Middle Peace Initiative (MEPI) and consists of ten movements, several of which are based on the MEPI motto, "Peace, Shalom, Salaam Aleikum," the greetings of peace of the three Abrahamic faiths of Christanity, Judaism and Islam.

Hebrew Version of Shi'ite Passion Play Premieres in Jerusalem

The Shi'ite Passion play, "The Martyrdom of Imam Hussein," a central component of the Iranian-Shi'ite culture, created by Dr. Eldad J. Pardo, a specialist on Iranian culture, and the poet Shelley Elkayam, premiered in Israel May 29, 2006.

Crossing a Bridge of Peace in Jerusalem

The Armon Hanatsiv Promenade overlooking the hills and valleys of Jerusalem offered a spectacular setting for the Bridge of Peace ceremony that paired people of different religions, races, and cultures in a commitment of mutual understanding and ongoing relationship on September 12. The Bridge of Peace ceremony, developed by the Women's Federation for World Peace, can be a powerful vehicle for reconciliation.

Interreligious and International Peace Council Inaugurated in New York

New York, USA - "The Interreligious and International Peace Council (IIPC)," said Mrs. Debbie H. Remengesau, First Lady of the Republic of Palau, "can improve existing methods and practices for addressing critical global problems by being the leader in the moral or spiritual conscience in leadership governance." The IIPC was founded on October 3rd in New York City where 304 delegates, including 52 guests from the United Nations-all together representing 149 nations-attended the 4-day Inaugural Assembly with the theme, "Global Governance for a New Realm of Peace."
