Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia - Administrators from the Mongolian University of Science and Technology asked UPF-Mongolia to arrange a visit to Seoul National University in Korea, which took place November 11-18. This request grew out of the participation of Mongolians in eight recent international leadership seminars with their counterparts in Asian nations.

The International Leadership Conference on “The Significance of Marriage and Family for Peace in the 21st Century” brought together delegates from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Estonia, Latvia, Mongolia, People's Republic of China, Russia, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan as well as other parts of the world. Mongolia - In the State of the World’s Children Report 2008, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) noted that Mongolia has made great strides in reducing infant mortality. This is good progress towards the UN Millennium Development Goal of reducing the rate by two-thirds between 1990 and 2015.The current under-five mortality rate per 1,000 live births is 43, which was 109 in 1990.
