Sierra Leone’s former president Ahmad Tajan Kabbah died March 13, 2014 after a long illness in his home in Freeport, Sierra Leone. He was 82. The late president was a member of UPF’s Presiding Council and an Ambassador for Peace.

Freetown, Sierra Leone - UPF-Sierra Leone launched Student Peace Initiative in nine leading secondary schools in the capital on December 11. Character education training was offered to sixteen students, who are encouraged to start peace clubs at their schools.

Universal Peace Federation has awarded 30 people in Kenema city with certificates as Ambassadors for Peace in the Kenema district east of the country during its two days International Leadership Conference.
Kenema, Sierra Leone - A Global Peace Tour program at the center of recent violence and conflict in Sierra Leone brought people together for an International Leadership Conference on March 27, 2009 and a clean up of the city center the following day.
UPF organized a second International Leadership Conference on the theme: “Towards a New Paradigm of Leadership and Good Governance for Peace and Development” on April 23, 2008. The level of participation was very encouraging, with 99 members of Parliament present.
