Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - The World Interfaith Harmony Week proclaimed by the United Nations found deep resonance in the hearts of peace-loving Malaysians when a culturally diverse gathering observed an interfaith open house at the headquarters of UPF-Malaysia on February 19. The theme was "Love of God and Love of the Neighbor."

Washington, DC, USA - The UPF-DC Office organized an interfaith luncheon program under the theme of the “Interfaith Cooperation and Universal Peace” on February 24. The program was co-sponsored by The Washington Times Foundation and held in the Beech Room of The Washington Times building.

Honiara, Solomon Islands - UPF-Solomon Islands sponsored an interfaith forum to commemorate the UN's World Interfaith Harmony Week on January 28. Three guest speakers were invited from different faiths to share a brief introduction to their faith and their thoughts about interfaith harmony.

Swazi Observer - AN HIV/AIDS youth training program for Swaziland youth has been launched. The training will be done in collaboration with the Washington AIDS International Teens (WAIT) and the Swaziland Chapter of UPF, as well as the global Next Generation Academy (NGA). The training will be conducted at selected constituencies, schools, communities, churches and other institutions through March 23. It will be run through peer-educators from various parts of the United States.

 Seoul, Korea - An International Leadership Conference in Seoul marked the first UN World Interfaith Harmony Week, emphasizing the responsibilities of religious and spiritual leaders to defuse long-standing tensions between different ethnic and minority groups.

Geneva, Switzerland - As a continuation of the series of conferences held at the United Nations in Geneva and New York, as well as in London, Bergamo, and Fribourg, Switzerland on interreligious/intercultural peacebuilding since 2008, a full-day symposium was held to commemorate the International Day of Peace in Geneva on September 23.

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia - The president of Ethiopia, H.E. Girma Wolde-Giorgis, and the president of the state of Gambella, H.E. Omot Obang Olom, attended the appointment of 257 new Ambassadors for Peace and were presented with certificates as Ambassadors for Peace.
