Sunakothi, Lalitpu, Nepal – The Religious Youth Service hosted an eight day project in Sunakothi, Lalitpur, Nepal from November 20 - November 28, 2008. Participants from Nepal, India, Mauritius, and the United States came together to aid the village of Sunakothi with the installation of 2 much needed water tanks and the creation of a peace pond. The project was hosted at the Bauddha Jana Vihar, a Buddhist Community Center and Temple.

Washington, DC, USA - The Global Peace Festival in Washington, DC, on August 9, 2008 was a kick-off to a sustained US campaign in many other cities. A key theme and challenge to those mobilized by the Festival campaign was a call to “A Million Acts of Service and Kindness.”
Itapecerica de Serra, São Paulo - A social impact project was held in the city of Itapecerica da Serra, São Paulo, on November 23. Approximately 50 people participated, including representatives from different associations and churches in the region: Assembly of God, Itapecerica Family Federation, the Collegiate Association for the Research of Principle-Brazil, and the city hall.
London, United Kingdom - In the spirit of preparing for the 2012 Olympic Games, clean-up projects took place in East London in October and November 2008.
Sydney, Australia - The 4th Living for Others Awards Presentations was held on October 25th, in Sydney's Western Suburbs.
Beirut, Lebanon - Students in Beirut organize seven projects building connections among people of Lebanon's diverse communal groups during a weekend of service Nov. 14-16, 2008.
Nabatieh, Lebanon - In the Lebanon Youth Service Weekend’s largest single project by number of participants, 130 scouts traveled from different parts of Beirut to the south Lebanon town of Nabatieh on November 16. There, they were welcomed by the Women’s Progress Association for Motherhood, Children and the Elderly.
Beirut, Lebanon - This project was the brainchild of two Palestinians — a doctor and a student — in response to the call to participate in a Youth Service Weekend. They chose Shatilla cemetery, the site of a horrific massacre more than 25 years ago, and asked Palestinian children to plant olive trees there on November 16, as a gesture of looking forwards towards a better, more peaceful future. The response was very enthusiastic.
