Day of Peace in Jerusalem, Israel

Jerusalem, Israel - A number of Israeli Ambassadors for Peace gathered together on the evening of September 21 in Jerusalem, including a few who have worked or still work in the Jerusalem Municipality. After sharing the speech for the day by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and the UPF Statement on the Day of Peace, we began a discussion reflecting on developments during the Middle East Peace Initiative events July 20-24 and what we can add to help the peace process in upcoming initiative events.
Prof. Eliezar Glaubach, a long-time Ambassador for Peace, called for a special request to be sent to UPF headquarters by the Israeli National Peace Council, supported by key Ambassadors for Peace, to seek the Nobel Peace Prize for the UPF Founder Dr. Rev. Sun Myung Moon for his untiring work over the past eight years to help develop the peace process in the Middle East region through inspiring more than 40 Middle East Peace Initiative trips, which brought to Israel and Palestine thousands of religious, political, and other leaders to share insights, gain deeper understanding of the situation, and act as intermediaries to help bring both sides together.
Lots of homemade sushi and desserts were shared during the discussion, which continued until quite late into the night. Then the Ambassadors for Peace, some who had come from as far as Tel Aviv, returned home to prepare for the Jewish festival of Sukkot, which started the following day.
