Day of Peace Observed at an Educational Program in Solomon Islands

Honiara, Solomon Islands - UPF-Solomon Islands organized an education program on the International Day of Peace 2013 in partnership with Women's Voice, a national NGO voicing the concerns of women and children.
The Sept. 23 program at the Solomon Island Broadcasting Corporation Conference Hall began with a reading of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon's message for the International Day of Peace. Speakers included representatives of two women's organizations who were partners in organizing the program: Vois Blo Mere (Women's Voice) and Winds for Change. A representative of the Women's Federation for World Peace spoke about the importance of character education, and the audience expressed appreciation for her presentation.
