Minsk, Belarus—UPF-Belarus took part in events timed to celebrate the annual UN-designated Global Day of Parents.
On May 30, UPF representatives attended a festive program at which children from an orphanage moved the audience to tears with songs about the family and the relationship of children with their parents.
The program, which took place at the Socio-Pedagogical Center the Orsha District, directed by Ella B. Azarova, was organized by the World of Family nonprofit group and the Altera youth public association and sponsored by the Horizon Belinvest-Developer private company.

Following the concert, the organizers gave presents to the children, and there were more songs, dances, contests and drawings. In the end, the organizers and the children shared a festive meal at which they expressed their mutual love and care.
On May 31, UPF organized a Global Day of Parents celebration in the village of Korolyovo in the Uzda District. Representatives of three generations from Belarus, Russia and Ukraine attended the celebration.
Vitaly Maksimov, the UPF representative in Belarus, spoke about the history and significance of the Global Day of Parents, which is celebrated annually on the initiative of the United Nations in honor of all parents of the world.
Participants learned about the activities of UPF, which is responsible for educational programs for young people and young families under the title "The Family Is the School of Love and Peace."
Following a concert prepared by the children, the meeting ended with a barbecue outdoors. The celebration of Global Day of Parents was held in an atmosphere of happiness, love, and understanding.
