Global Day of Parents Observed in Nicaragua

Managua, Nicaragua—Global Day of Parents 2016 was celebrated with a program at the Universidad de Ciencias Comerciales (UCC; University of Commercial Sciences), located in Nicaragua’s capital of Managua, on June 8, 2016.
Approximately 170 people, including students, faculty members and staff leaders at the university, attended the event, which was co-organized by the UCC and UPF-Nicaragua.
The Dean of the UCC, Dr. Iván Ortiz, gave the opening remarks, which were followed by welcoming remarks, given by the President of UPF-Nicaragua, Dr. Agustín Jarquín. Two presentations, one on family values and another on the importance of the family and parents in building a healthy society, were given by Ms. Elda Amador Lazo, director of the Christian association, Jesús está Vivo (Jesus is Alive), and Mr. Mauricio Gutiérrez, a professor at the Universidad de Managua (University of Managua).
