Kiev, Ukraine - A meeting of Ambassadors for Peace related to the Week of Interfaith Harmony took place on January 27. The meeting was attended by 20 Ambassadors for Peace. Among the participants were members of grass-roots organizations and representatives of business and education spheres.
In the course of the meeting, a presentation covering principles of world peace in the light of the teachings UPF founder Dr. Sun Myung Moon was offered to the audience. The participants were deeply moved by the idea of the founder that a family means unity of three generations and the cornerstone of world peace.
Sedykh Yury Ivanovich, an Ambassador for Peace, a lieutenant general in the armed forces resrves of Ukraine, doctor of philosophy, honored journalist of Ukraine, and head of the grassroots organization “Bolgarskoe Zemlyachestvo,” expressed his desire to obtain materials so he can promote the ideas of peacemaking among young people. Other participants approved and supported his request and also expressed their desire to collaborate with the initiative.
Ambassadors for Peace unanimously approved the idea that the older generation also should take responsibility for creating unity of three generations in a family, for sharing family values and culture with children, and teaching religious tolerance. Ambassadors for Peace were inspired when they learned that Dr. Moon’s philosophy could embrace all religions and lead humankind to a new level of culture and thinking.
In conclusion, the participants decided to hold educational programs to study the teaching of the UPF founder for Ambassadors for Peace on a monthly basis.
