Budapest, Hungary - An interreligious service was held in Budapest on February 5 as part of UN World Interfaith Harmony Week.
After a Christian opening prayer, Rev. Gyorgy Kulin of the Presbyterian Church, Mr. Sliman Ahmed from the Sahara Foundation (Sunni Muslim), Mrs. Katsuyo Bendzsa of the Shinto-Buddhist tradition, and Tibor Krebsz of Unificationism participated in a Water of Peace ceremony.
Mr. Krebsz described recent activities of UPF Founder Rev. Sun Myung Moon and interreligious projects in Korea. Mrs. Csilla Balint talked about her personal experience in an interreligious marriage blessing initiated by Rev. Moon as a powerful tool to restore division and develop understanding and cooperation between people of different cultures and religions.
The event was closed with a benediction and blessing given by Mr. Sliman Ahmed and a closing prayer by Mr. and Mrs. Krebsz.
For the closing day of the World Interfaith Harmony Week an interreligious prayer meeting and round table discussion took place February 7.
